The descenants of Ira and Ella Book Eby gathered for a family reunion Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Bareville Fire Halll.

The gathering began with an 11:00 a.m. worship service led by Bud Eby.  John Eby led songs from the Life Songs # 2.  Eugene Wenger shared a meditation about worship reminding us of God's greatness, mercy and grace.  Following that Brett Eby led in a few songs using his guitar.

The potluck lunch followed.  There was lots of good food and no one went hungry.

Following the meal each family group introduced themselves starting with Mary Ellen Leaman, the oldest child of Loyd Eby, the oldest child of Ira and Ella.  This continued through Gordie Eby, the youngest child of Paul Eby.  None of Willis' or Ellen's family members were able to attend.  Alma Eby then shared.  She is the youngest of Ira and Ella's children.

Many thanks to Bud and Sue Eby for planning this event.

The next reunion will be held in 5 years at the Eby home farm.  Mike and Lynette have agreed to host the next reunion at the
home farm because 2014 is the 200th anniversary of the farm being purchased by Jacob Frantz who is the father of Anna Frantz married to Sem Eby. Sem Eby is our great great grandfather. He bought the Frantz farm in 1849. Jacob Frantz is our great, great, great grandfather because his daughter married Sem Eby.
